Her Background:

Lauren graduated in 2017 from the University of Kentucky, which she attended on an art scholarship. She studied Art Studio and Art Education. In 2015, she furthered her artistic education by immersing herself in a summer-intensive art program in Paris, France.

Lauren was born in Louisville, Kentucky, and now residents in Columbus, Ohio. Now in her third year of teaching, she was inspired to instruct at the elementary school level as it reminds her of the teachers who played critical roles in her development, growth and creativity at such an early age. It is her hope to instill these same beliefs and techniques in her students.

 

Her Art:

Lauren is trained in oil paint and finds inspiration in the surroundings of her home and environment. These include images of home interiors and still lives of familiar, commonplace items. She finds beauty in the ordinary and seeks to amplify that beauty through bright and exaggerated color schemes.

When Lauren isn’t painting or teaching, she enjoys spending time with her dog, Charlie, running outside, and taking pictures.
